Arvind Lifestyle Brands has entered a partnership with India’s leading retail chain, Shoppers Stop to setup and launch shop-in-shop of Next. The SIS of the British brand will be opened at Shoppers Stop’s Juhu store and will be spread across 600 sq ft.
The shop-in-shop will retail apparels for kids from the age of 2 to 12 years. The range will also have hosiery, socks, shoes and accessories.
The brand will be an addition to Shoppers Stop portfolio and will bring in the value of being aspirational brand.

KidZania, a destination that every kid is looking forward to visit, has been tying up with various brands to bring the best of activities for the little ones. This time the edutainmenttheme park has joined hands with Kansai Nerolac to exclusively be their partner for ‘Colour Ur House’ activity in the premises.
With this activity, children will get a hands-on opportunity to paint their rooms in vibrant colours and showcase their creative side. As part of the agreement, Kansai Nerolac will provide eco-friendly paints, rollers and brushes to the kids thus helping them bring out their artistic streak.
An Indo-German JV, KidsKinder Dreams India has made its entry into the Indian retail market. The JV which is geared to bring to India some of the leading baby care products and toys, has tied up with premium product manufacturers with the highest status in international markets.
The brands that the company will bring in include Bubchen, HABA, JAMARA, NICI, Playmobil and Rebel Kidz. The first stint with retail will be through the e-commerce marketplace, Flipkart.
The JV plans to invest Rs 100 million over the next two years to hard-sell German toys and child care brands in 25 cities across India. In terms of retail presence, the company will open six stores across Bangalore by March 2014 and 25 stores across tier-I and tier-II cities by 2015. The retail journey which will begin from Bangalore will further expand to other metros by FY-2014-15, and in tier II cities include Pune, Jaipur, Ahmedabad and among others by FY 2015-16 through stores, franchises and distributing partners.
Funskool India, a JV between MRF Tyres and Hasbro Inc. , recently opened its first branded retail outlet in Chennai. The store is franchised and exclusively sells Lego brand. The store is spread across 1300 sq ft and located at Phonenix mall in Chennai.
A pilot, the company will expand the number of stores if this proves to be successful.
The first retail venture of the company will be based on learning and the company will in future look at other markets, with stores that will showcase not just in-house but other brands as well.
Kids retail market has been soaring in India as parents are spending more and more on their kids wardrobes which for sure are getting ‘fashionable’. Why not, if Suri Cruise or Aaradhya Bachchan or even Harper Beckham can do it then surely your kids can.
