After a huge response for the game and application, Angry Birds’ makers Rovio Entertainment, now plans to launch activity parks in India.
The Finnish franchise owner plans to launch Angry Bird Playground and Corners in malls to gain further from the much loved game, by end of 2014.
According to Henri Holm, Senior VP, Rovio Entertainment, the market is ready for the brand to participate more than just the app. The brand is now looking at licensing and marketing alliances and partners and bring in products including learning content, drinks, licensed products and merchandise.
Currently, the franchise has also inked deals with Unilever and Parle and already sells licensed apparel through selected multi-brand retailers.
The Singaporean donut brand Mad Over Donuts after doing some amazing special offerings occasion specific, has now turned towards licensed donuts. One of its kinds offerings in India, a new avenue has been ventured into, food licensing.

With Krrish 3 soon hitting the big screen soon, Turner in collaboration with Filmkraft and Toonz Animation announces Kid Krrish, an animated movie. The movie is the animated version of the original movie and will premiere on Cartoon Network on October 2, 2013 at 12 noon.
In totality this is a set of four animated tele-movies and the first look of the character was unveiled by the real Krrish, Hrithik Roshan. Krishna Desai, Sr. Director & Network Head – Kids, South Asia, Turner International India Pvt. Ltd said “We aim to bring customer experience with Kid Krrish, a re-imagined adaptation of the popular live action Krrish franchise in animation. The multiplex major, PVR Cinemas, plans to open add 100 screens to its existing number of 400. These screens will be added within this fiscal with an investment of Rs 150 crore.
Going further, the plan is to open 100 every year and reach a mark of 1,000.
Of the new screens, nearly 50 per cent of them will be opened in metro while others will be coming up in tier I and II cities.
