iGrow Reviews: Kitsch – A destination for all luxury lovers

If you happened to cross the busy Defence Colony road on 14 August, it would have been hard to miss the bright yellow light up bungalow on the same lane that houses fashion designers including JJ Valaya, Shantanu & Nikhil, Dolly J and others (soon turning fashion street of Delhi).

The straight-lined bungalow is the new Kitsch store in town and it was the celebration party for the launch of this one of its kind luxury fashion boutique. An endeavour by the style savy Sachdev sisters- Priya & Charu, Kitsch houses the latest collection of ready to wear, accessories, bags and shoes from the worlds top luxury fashion designers such as Alexander McQueen, Saint Laurent Paris, Rag & Bone, Stella McCartney, Dolce & Gabbana, Victoria Beckham, dSquared2, Diane Von Furstenberg, Halston Heritage, Alice & Olivia and Herve Leger, among others.

The interiors are tastefully done in the brands signature. The colours of the store are minimally black & white with a dash of pink, the colours of Kitsch. The store decor ensures that its the products and designs that become the highlight.

On display were dresses, skirts, tunics, belts, scarves, shoes & bags. A little everything for both Men & women. The coffee table books at display on each shelf each shelf added to the glam quotient. What caught our attention was a large tables with a display of accessories and coffee table books.

The store is segregated in to two halves where in one half is dedicated to women the second half is a man’s territory. The men’s section interestingly has leather racks that makes it look like the ohh so men thing.

As we moved further through the puzzle like store, what took us by surprise was a bright small room full of cute little things for home. Well it was “The wishing Chair” corner (the one’s that have a store in Shahpur Jat). The store interestingly went well with the Kitsch theme and brings a fresh breathe of air. After you have shopped for yourself, you can also pick up quirky stuff for your home including teapots, cushions, candle stands.

After shopping, one always looks for a place to relax and have a cuisine to calm the senses. When at Kitsch, you will just have to climb a few stairs and …. You got to roll the drums and congratulate Kitsch for this as they bring to you a restaurant in collaboration with the award winning Chef & Restaurateur Ritu Dalmia’s Diva. The collaboration restaurant, known as ‘Diva Kitsch’ will serve you well with modern Asian cuisines. (We literally got a taste of it at the launch.)

We think that the is a complete destination for all luxury shoppers, one of its kind for the Delhiites. A cutesy shop like The Wishing Chair adds a refreshing change. Add to that some awesome food and we have a perfect blend of shopping.
