Tashi fading away from Tata International’s retail portfolio

Tashi, the footwear brand from the house of Tata International, is now on the verge of bidding goodbye to the face of Indian retail. The brand which started its journey in 2010 could not even survive three years in the retail industry.

Started For The Love of Shoes.. (That’s how the brand’s about us begins), the brand could not survive the competition both from established organised players and huge unorganised market.

Personally, I never knew about the brand till I saw a store in Rajouri Garden last year and since that time the store has been running heavy discounts on products and heels as low as starting from Rs 399 (probably have been clearing out stocks). A few months back, in an informal discussion I had mentioned that the stores will shut down, the brand has not reached the consumers, there is no brand loyalty. And now, my last visit to the market, to my prediction, the store was shut.

Tata International will now shift its focus to manufacturing, distribution and trading.
