VLCC to open 100 stores; to enter functional foods and neutraceuticals segment

Business of beauty will never fade away, this shows well as brands unveil their expansion plans in terms of presence or new product launches at regular intervals. Indians have become more and more conscious about the way they look coming out of the “ghar ke nushke”.

One such brand which has announced its plans to be available across a larger number cities is the wellness and beauty company VLCC. Founded by Vandana Luthra, the company will open 100 new outlets in both domestic and international markets, including Africa. It will be a two year plan that the company is implementing with an investment of Rs 200 crore.

VLCC currently runs 300 stores globally which include beauty and slimming centres, nutrition institutes and exclusive beauty zones in 16 countries. Of the total, 170 are in Indian and of the 100 new to be added, 30 will be within the country.

VLCC, apart from the 16 nations it is present in, it now aims to look at countries including Singapore and Indonesia in South East Asia along with North and East Africa where in it will introduce both products and services.

What’s more, VLCC with this expansion plan eyes 20 per cent growth y-on-y and will add functional foods and nutraceuticals alongside.
