Break into that laughter as SAB TV ventures into comics

I have been an ardent lover of some of the shows in SAB TV including FIR and Tarak Mehta ka Oolta Chashma. These shows are a wave of freshness with a very earthy touch.

For fans like me, SAB TV gives another reason to keep that laughter going, as it ventures into comics. A part of channel’s strategy to revamp the look, there will be innovative offering to keep the viewers glued of which SAB Ke Comics will be a part.

These comics will be available through iOS and Android OS. There are over a 100 comic strips of six shows, entertains fans on the go with short jokes from SAB TV shows and characters. This app has been an extension to newspaper ads in comic strip formats of some of the successful shows including Jeannie aur Juju, Chidiya Ghar, FIR, Lapataganj, R.K. Laxman and Golmaal.

The channel has also unveiled 3D characters of the popular Gadha, Gopi Mama and Gulgule.

Karmik goes beyond borders; to soon open store in Pakistan

I remember speaking with Pradeep Hirani, CMD, Karmik back in mid-2012 when he shared that he would not limit these stores to India but also explore the neighbouring countries. And it finally becomes a reality, as Hirani takes the multi-designer pret retail chain to Pakistan, the first such Indian retailer.

With the focus on reaching the fashionistas of Pakistan, Karmik has entered an international franchise and agreement with Arshadsons, a retail franchise company, from Pakistan. The deal was recently signed in Delhi. Additionally, as part of this master-franchise deal, the plan is to open six stores in cities such as Lahore (also the location for the first store ever in the country), Karachi and Islamabad over the next three years, followed by smaller towns. Estimated investment for this deal is around 3 million dollars over three years.

Wildcraft to raise Rs 65-70 crore through PE

The adventure equipment and outdoor gear brand, Wildcraft, is in talks with PE investors to raise nearly Rs 65-70 crore investment. The investment will utilised to expand the brand presence across India.

Wildcraft which began operations in 1992 in Bangalore, it sells products including shoes, jackets, cheaters, convertibles, rucksacks, sleeping bags, tents and hiking accessories. The brand is available across 70 stores, 250 shop-in-shops and 1000 supermarkets. Clocked turnover cross Rs 100 crore in FY’13, the brand has created a niche in the market and currently competes with international brands including Timberland and Decathlon.

Woodland to open 70 stores; aims Rs 1K crore turnover

The adventure sport apparel and footwear brand Woodland has unveiled its plans to expand it presence across India by adding stores and new product categories. With these plans the retailer aims a turnover of Rs 1000 crore by FY’14 end.

Currently, the retailer has 400 company owned and presence across 4000 multi brand outlets. The aim will be open 60-70 stores this year, with a strong focus on smaller cities and towns.

Viviana Mall opens second phase with renowned retail brands

Viviana Mall recently launched in Thane has announced the opening of the second phase of the mall. Developed by Sheth Developers & Realtors the mall is built on a 13- acre plot and spread over an area of one million sq.ft. Khandani Rajdhani opens at DLF Place Saket

Known for its specialised all vegetarian menu and exquisite thalis, Khandani Rajhdhani from the house of Mirah Hospitality, opens its fifth outlet in the capital. Located at DLF Place Saket, the outlet is spread across 2,800 sq ft with a seating capacity of 84. This is the 35th outlet of the specialised restaurant.
